From the tools to the numbers – meet Mike

There aren't many QSs who've swung a hammer for a living. Mike Finlay has.

Mike's joining us as Quantity Surveyor Cadet – working across construction finance, risk, and procurement. It's a role that demands precision – someone who understands both what things cost and why. Mike brings both.

Born in Auckland and raised with a tradesman's instinct, Mike spent a good chunk of his twenties overseas and came back a qualified builder. There's also a chapter in there as a high-end bike mechanic, which tells you something about how his brain works. He's here because he wants to grow in an industry he knows from the ground up, and keep his mathematically wired brain busy. Works for us.
